This circuit connects three places deeply associated with India’s sacred geography. It is designed around manageable daily movement, crowd awareness and time for worship rather than maximum site count.

Suggested itinerary

Days 1–2 — Ayodhya

Arrive, settle in and use a local coordinator to understand entry procedures and traffic restrictions. Spread key visits across two mornings instead of attempting everything on arrival day. Keep bags light and agree on support for elders.

Day 3 — Ayodhya to Prayagraj

Travel after breakfast and use the afternoon for rest. Near the Sangam, select transport and boating only after checking weather, river and crowd conditions.

Day 4 — Prayagraj

Begin early for the Sangam area. Add a heritage or learning stop later in the day, leaving enough margin for local traffic. During festival periods, the plan requires a completely different crowd and access strategy.

Day 5 — Chitrakoot

Transfer to Chitrakoot and take a gentle orientation around the main pilgrimage zone. Travellers with limited mobility may need a shortened route.

Day 6 — Reflection and departure

Choose one early visit, return for breakfast and depart without a rushed chain of stops.

Planning essentials

  • Never rely on ordinary driving times during festivals or major observances.
  • Ask for an accessible-journey plan if the group includes elders.
  • Confirm darshan, security and bag rules from official local sources.
  • Build hydration, shade and rest stops into warm-weather travel.

Official context and further reading

The Ministry of Tourism has recognised a Ramayana theme within its circuit-development work, while destination and access management remains primarily with states and local authorities. IRCTC has also published Ramayana-themed rail products at different times. Check IRCTC Tourism for any currently bookable product; this itinerary is not an IRCTC package.
